Cotswold stone slate — the right way
Genuine Cotswold stone slate roofing is a specialism, not a general trade. Slates vary in thickness, size and weight down the roof, and the detail at the eaves, valley, ridge and verge is very specific. Wrongly re-laid, stone slate roofs leak within a season.
We strip carefully, sort slates on the ground, retain the sound ones, and source matching stone for renewals — either reclaimed or Naturally Occurring Stone (NOS) that matches colour and grade. Fixings are copper or oak pegs, not ferrous. Lime mortar for bedding where it's used at all.
