1. About us
These terms govern the supply of roofing works and related services by White Horse Roofing Services ("we", "us", "our"), owned and operated by Kaleb Smith. Contact: whitehorseroofing@outlook.com · 07522 468971.
2. Quotes & surveys
Quotes for owner-occupied properties are free. For homes you have not yet purchased, a £100 pre-purchase survey fee applies; this fee is fully deducted from the final quote if you proceed with the works. All quotes are fixed-price based on the survey findings and remain valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
3. Acceptance & deposits
Works commence once you accept the quote in writing and a deposit is received. The deposit secures your slot in the diary. On larger projects, sensible stage payments may be agreed in writing before works begin.
4. Variations
If, during works, unforeseen defects are discovered that were not visible during the survey (for example concealed rot or structural damage), we will pause, document the issue with photographs, and issue a written variation for your approval before proceeding.
5. Payment
The balance is payable by bank transfer on completion, unless stage payments have been agreed. Late payments may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.
6. Guarantees
We provide a 15-year workmanship guarantee on full re-roofs and a 10-year workmanship guarantee on flat roofs, issued in writing on completion. Guarantees cover workmanship only; manufacturer material warranties run separately. Guarantees do not cover storm damage, third-party works after completion, structural movement, or normal wear.
7. Insurance
We hold £1 million public liability insurance covering our works. Evidence of cover is available on request.
8. Access & safety
You agree to provide reasonable access to the property and inform us of any known hazards. We work to Working at Height Regulations 2005 and take all reasonable care to protect people and property during works.
9. Cancellation
Consumers have the right to cancel a contract entered into off-premises within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you request works to begin within that period and later cancel, we may charge for works already carried out.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under English law. Otherwise our liability is limited to the value of the contract.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
